Nicholas H. Mancuso

Experience and Background

Nick represents clients in a variety of real estate, corporate and finance transactions and has extensive residential and commercial real estate and loan workout experience. Nick represents individual and businiess clients in real estate purchase, sale, and refinancing transactions, and has personally closed thousands of residential and commercial real estate loan transactions. Mr. Mancuso has also represented institutional investors and other capital markets investors, institutional lenders, loan participants, banks, and a national rating agency in a wide range of mortgage loan and mezzanine loan financing transactions. Mr. Mancuso’s loan workout experience includes representing master servicers and special servicers in a variety of loan modification, workout, and deed-in-lieu of foreclosure and foreclosure matters. Nick also has extensive commercial litigation experience and represents a variety of small, medium and large business clients including loan servicers, commercial mortgage lenders, mezzanine lenders, secured and unsecured creditors and general business clients in an array of matters, including commercial foreclosure actions, contract disputes, partnership disputes, actions on guaranties and general business matters, and regularly appears in state and federal court.

Prior to forming the Law Offices of Nicholas H. Mancuso, LLC, Nick was a founding partner of the boutique law firm Logan Grady Mancuso LLC, located in Wethersfield, Connecticut, where his practice focused on residential and commercial real estate and foreclosure matters. Prior to founding Logan Grady Mancuso, LLC, Mr. Mancuso practiced law at Dechert LLP’s Hartford, CT office where he focused his practice on commercial real estate finance, litigation matters, and loan workout matters. Before he joined Dechert, Mr. Mancuso was an associate with the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate Meagher & Flom LLP, and focused his practice on bankruptcy, corporate restructuring and related matters. Following law school, Mr. Mancuso clerked for the Honorable Mary M. Lisi of the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island.

Education and Activities

Mr. Mancuso is a graduate of the University of Connecticut (B.S. Economics, 1992) and the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude , 2001), where he was the editor-in-chief of the Buffalo Law Review.

As an undergraduate, Nick attended the University of Connecticut and was a member of the University of Connecticut football team. As a player, he was named to the All-Conference Academic Team during his sophomore, junior and senior years, was a two-time All-Conference Team honoree, and, as a senior, was named to the All-ECAC team.

Bar Admissions and Associations

Mr. Mancuso is a member of the Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York Bars, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and the Southern District of New York.

Mr. Mancuso is a co-author of the Mortgage and Asset Backed Securities Litigation Handbook, West® Legalworks, 2008: Chapters - “Complex Loan Structures” and “Issues Arising in Connection with the Foreclosure or Other Enforcement Action of the Securitized Loan.”

Mr. Mancuso resides in Connecticut with his wife and three children.
